Real-Time Email Validation API
Syntax and MX validation today, with deliverability fields returned honestly as unavailable.
Validates an email address’s syntax and mail-exchanger (MX) records in real time over Google DNS-over-HTTPS. Its upstream deliverability/catch-all/risk provider key is not currently available, and the API says so explicitly in every response rather than guessing.
What it does
- POST /validate-email checks address syntax and resolves MX records for the domain.
- Because the third-party provider that used to supply mailbox deliverability, catch-all detection, risk scoring and an overall score is not currently keyed, those fields are returned as unavailable (`null`) instead of a fabricated value — the API degrades explicitly to a documented `syntax_and_mx_only` mode.
- A verified production request for test@example.com returned HTTP 200 with valid syntax and an MX record present, and unavailable deliverability — exactly the degraded-mode behavior described above, confirmed against the live endpoint on 2026-09-29.
Endpoint contract
“Public” routes execute without credentials. “Auth-boundary” routes reject unauthenticated calls — that proves the route exists and is protected, not that it has been exercised end-to-end with a paid key.

- No browser-extension funnel exists for this product; a candidate was evaluated and rejected after search turned up no corroborating demand evidence.
