OCR for images, scanned PDFs and tables — bounded, in-memory, and privacy-conscious by default.
Extracts text from images and PDFs, including structured table extraction from images. Uploads are validated for size, format/signature and pixel/frame/page bounds, processed in memory, and responses avoid leaking upload contents into logs.
What it does
- POST /extract_text_from_img and /extract_text_from_pdf return extracted text from an uploaded image or PDF.
- POST /extract_table_from_img returns structured table data extracted from an image rather than a single text blob.
- Requests are bounded on file size, image pixel count, frame count and PDF page count before processing, and are handled in memory rather than written to disk.
Endpoint contract
“Public” routes execute without credentials. “Auth-boundary” routes reject unauthenticated calls — that proves the route exists and is protected, not that it has been exercised end-to-end with a paid key.

Current limitations
- The root domain this API is hosted on is only availability-checked, not readiness-checked — /health and /health/ready are the routes that carry an actual readiness contract.
- A companion "Img2Text Region OCR" browser extension supports a bring-your-own-key production mode, stores no permanent OCR history, and ships with no bundled API key.
